I have an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ that has no onboard gpu but displays when I connect it through the mobo's d-sub port. Is something wrong?
I didn't manage to get to the OS though, since there isn't installed any.
I only got to the BIOS.
But it can display like it has an integrated GPU.

This is the exact place I was searching for.

I get confused with integrated graphics on motherboards and integrated gpu on a cpu.

Maybe if a motherboard says that it has integrated graphics, it has a gpu.
If it says that it supports integrated graphics, it needs a gpu from the cpu.

Am I correct??

It depends on manufacturer.
If CPU integrated graphics supported:
ASUS: Integrated Graphics Processor (Intel), or Integrated AMD Radeon™ HD xxxx Series Graphics in A-series APU (AMD)
ASRock: Supports Intel® HD Graphics Built-in Visuals (Intel), or Integrated AMD Radeon HD xxxx series graphics in A-series APU
Gigabyte: Integrated Graphics Processor - Intel® HD Graphics support (Intel), or APU with integrated AMD Radeon™ HD xxxx series graphics (AMD)
