Gorilla glass 3 .
The a3 is a good little phone IMO.
You can get slightly better specs going for a Chinese branded elephone, ulephone or redmii but most of these have 5 inch screen s & are a lot bigger.
LG Nexus 5 would be a good choice. especially since it comes unlocked out of the box so you don't have to figure out how to get it to work with your carrier
Samsung galaxy a3 is a bit big for my hand I think, no? I saw the cellphones in store today I think, and the samsung galaxy 5 mini fit good in my hand, but has only 1,2 ghz and possibly single core

sorry but I need to say around 200$ would be preferable
I checked them out. I struggle between big and small screen. Like samsung gs5 mini and bigger version.
Personally i prefer small size. BUt it depends what you use your phone for and how much time you spend on it. If it's just the ocasional email and facebook checking, but mostly it's a phone for you, obviously small size is preferable.
I know. I know. I used to have small phone that fits into my hand and that I can fully use with 1 thumb display (sony Xperia P). Sry bad english, but lazy now.
But writing was quite difficult with my big finger on that small screen. So maybe want bigger screen but then I guess I have to use both thumbs yes?
The a3 isn't big, I'd say coming from an xperia p it would be a good fit.
Its a whole gigantic 8mm longer & 5 mm wider!
The display is gorilla glass 3 , you won't find plastic screens on any current decent phone models due to the majority being direct touch capacitive IPS screens .
Put a decent case on it mate , gorilla glass 3 is pretty damn strong you know.
My phones been 30foot through the air while downhill biking & though the frame got scratched the screen was fine - & this has happened more than once .
Iphones (apart from the old 3gs) have always been very very susceptible to breaking when dropped just because if the design , pairing a glass back & front with very little flex is always going to cause that.the Sony compact phones have the exact same pitfall.
As I said above you won't find any decent phone with a plastic screen nowadays mate.
Having gg3 for the screen is the best you can hope for.

Don't know what country you are but I'd say if available the redmii 2 pro/prime 16gb is a slightly better specced phone with a higher res screen & more than likely cheaper.
Its mainly plastic as opposed to the samsungs full metal casing but if its in a case that doesn't really matter.
