Hello guys,
Need some help trying to game 4K @ 60Hz on my 4K TV. (3840 x 2160)
Ok here is the break down.
GPU: XFX FURY X
HDMI 1.4 and Display Port 1.2
(http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/products/amd-radeon-r9-300-series/amd-radeon-r9-furyx-liquid-cooled-r9-fury-4qfa)
TV:
Samsung UN60HU8550
HDMI 2.0 and No Display Port
(http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/tv-av/tv/uhd/UN60HU8550FXZC)
Adapter:
Club 3D DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 UHD Active Adapter
(http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/displayport-12-to-hdmi-20-uhd-active-adapter.html)
Now with this setup, I am still not able to run at 60Hz. The only game I currently have to test is Assassin's Creed Unity (which I've heard to be choppy by nature).
My question to you guys is the only factor that may be hindering 60Hz is the HDMI cable. It is regular High Speed HDMI, not SPECIFICALLY HDMI 2.0. I've read around that expensive vs not expensive cables don't make a different. but I'm wondering in my situation of HDMI 2.0 if it does?
Do I need to invest in a HDMI 2.0 Specific cable? Or I'm just out of luck with my setup?
