this has only started yesterday and I had to switch to the Intel integrated graphics to access my PC, and as such I can not watch my movies without unbearable judder and frame drops, or play most of my games.

If I have no drivers installed at all the 970 displays to the monitor, but looks like safe mode. as soon as I install drivers and reboot, as soon as I get to the windows login screen my monitor just says "DVI no Signal" on a black screen and when I use my HDMI I get "HDMI no Signal" on a blue screen. (On my ASUS VG278 Monitor)

Multiple restarts do not get this resolved and I have no idea what is going on. My GPU (with drivers on) displays right up to the windows login screen and the signal then gets cut. the Video card is less than a year old and I am not sure if there is a problem with the card, the motherboard's 16x PCIe slot or if it is windows.

I am waiting for a friend to bring my old GTX760 to swap and try to see if I get the same issue, if so then the issue will be narrowed down to either the mobo's PCIe slot or Windows.

I tried just installing the base display driver and the full package (3D Vis, PhysX, GFE). After restart, and just a microsecond before the windows login screen starts the signal instantly goes on both DVI (Dual Link) and HDMI.

Please assist! I am missing playing Dark Souls III and Fallout 4!!!!!

Solution
I am having the exact same issue,
-I reinstall windows 3 or 5 times (tried 10 & 8.1)
-countless drivers (old & new) also failed
- I changed the PCI slot >> no luck
- updated & reset BIOS >> no luck
I even removed the OC from my CPU :S

my advise is to not to waste your time on the software, I am 95% sure it is only from the hardware , because even when windows get black I still can hear the sounds (after direct driver installation)

I highly suspect the PSU, because immediately after windows logo loading >> black screen >> mice & keyboard lights turned off >> HDD light goes off

but all the fans and lights (even the sdd) is working ?!!

I will update you if I find solution

Update*
test it on different pc .. same
Conclusion...

I thought that too at the time, so I downgraded the drivers 3 times and got the exact same issue on 3 sets of drivers that worked fine for me before. (2 set's of drivers from Nvidia and the Drivers on the CD that came with the card)

I wonder if the culprit is Windows? I guess I will get closer to the truth when my friend arrives with my old GTX760 Card for testing.

I have tried even doing a repair (Upgrade) install of windows and still I can only get a signal from my video card's DVI and HDMI if NO drivers are present AT ALL, other wise it is DVI No Signal or HDMI No Signal.

I wonder if the PCIe slot on my mobo is ****ed. if so it is new mobo for me as mine only has 1 x16PCIe slot the others are 1 x8 and 2 x4's

The PC is going to the shop today and judging by how puzzling this is it could take days or weeks to get a diagnosis (at an hourly charge) before they can fix it (and me purchasing replacement HW)

It is the hardware as mine has confirmed failures on both DVI ports and the HDMI port but the VGA port worked. My card is currently overseas getting repaired under warranty. This is a hardware fault!
