I have 16 GB of G.SKILL Ares Series DDR3 1600 RAM but when I check my bios it tells me the ram is running at 1334mhz instead of the 1600mhz. The dram voltage is 1.50 and the timings are 9-9-9-24

How am I supposed to get the RAM to run at 1600mhz instead of 1334?

My motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P

It's 2 8GB sticks. What RAM parameters should I input?

I don't see any DOCP option in my bios. I have 2x8GB

I see that in my manual but when I enter the bios I don't see any xmp profile setting. I think my bios may be outdated or something. I see the system memory multiplier but when ever I try to change it to 1600mhz, my PC will not boot up and I must change it back to 1334 for it to boot up.

I have updated my bios to the newest version which was released on 2016/03/02 but I still do not see the xmp profile option.

Okay, but by increasing the DRAM voltage does it shorten the life of the RAM?
