Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU: AMD Fx-4300 3.8ghz
Ram: 8GB Kingston Hyperx Fury Black
Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P23(FX)
Graphics: 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 TI
Power Supply: Turbolink ATX-XG500W

Ok, I'm at my wits end here and need help. My issues all started when trying to play Subnautica. The game would load up and I would just start to play and my computer would lock up and reboot itself. At first I thought it was just an issue with the game because it is still early access. I have posted on their forums and tried to get help from their support via email but no success. I gave up on Subnautica and started playing Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor instead. First day I played for 3 hours with no issues at all. Since then every time I play it I get about 10 minutes in and the computer locks up and reboots itself just like it did with Subnautica. I can however, for the time being, play warframe or browse the internet just fine and get no issues and no reboots.

I tried running sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

They found corruptions and repaired them. I have re-ran all of them and there are no more issues reported.

I have updated all my drivers via Slimdrivers and went to Nvida's website manually updating my graphics drivers. MSI's website only has Audio and Lan drivers on their site (that I can find).

I have opened up the side panel of the computer and placed an external fan next to it just incase it was a heating issue.

I have also replaced the motherboard with a new one (same motherboard due to windows 8 key being tied to the motherboard) but the issue remains.

I get 2 things in Event Viewer from around the time of the crash.

First is a bugcheck

Second is a Fatal Hardware error.

There is also an issue in the Event Viewer for Vbox but I am not sure if that is related to my current issue or not.

Let me know if you need any other information and I will try to provide it for you.
Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

Solution
Remove your slimdriver crap and clean install all your drivers properly.

Once you rule out the drivers, the issue is going to probably be your PoS PSU. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/515473-teardown-and-review-of-the-turbolink-atx-xg500w-crappy-psu/ yes, that is a horrible PSU that will catch fire. It is only 400W (not 500) and probably illegal in US and europe!

Spend the $75 you need for a EVGA G2 550 or XFX TS Gold 550

Sounds like a psu problem with me. Had the same problem when i changed a gpu that my PSU wouldn't handle. After some time of gaming my pc would restart itself because my gpu was demanding too much power.

Where would I get the drivers? I know how to get my hands on the audio, lan, and video drivers but none of the other drivers for my Mobo are available via msi. So my options that I know of are shady 3rd party sites or programs like slim drivers.

https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/760GM-P23-FX.html#down-driver&Win8%2064

Your mobo only needs the audio codec and lan driver, and the GPU needs it's driver from nvidia. Win 8 already includes all the best drivers for the board except for audio and lan.

Like I said though, start saving up for a PSU that won't catch fire, 99% chance you'll need a new PSU

I removed slimdrivers from my computer. Before I go any further and risk screwing things up more what is the safest way to do a clean install of all my drivers?

Went ahead and did a full clean install of windows 8 and all my drivers. Ended up being easier for me in the long run. Computer runs a LOT better now but the problem still persists.

Have a new psu coming soon, EVGA G2 550 as recommended. Will update again once it arrives and I get it installed and tested.
