I just started to build a PC. I've installed the CPU, the heatsync, and the RAM onto the motherboard, and screwed the motherboard into the case. I also have screwed the power supply in, and connected the 24-pin connector into the motherboard. I have plugged the fan that came with my case into cha_fan, and the heatsync into cpu_fan.

Can anyone tell me the next step(s) in building it?

Solution
As madmatt30 mentioned, run power to your CPU with the 4/8 pin cable from the PSU.

Also, Mount GPU, run power to GPU from PSU.

And, mount any SSD/HDD/optical drives in your case, connect them to power, and connect them to the motherboard with (most likely) SATA cables.

Then, run your monitor cable, keyboard, mouse, speakers?

At this point, stand far away, and poke the power button with a long stick and brace for impact.

If nothing blew up, make sure your fans are spinning, check CPU, PSU, GPU, Case, ..?

If you get a picture on your monitor you did everything correct! Good Job!

Probably should check temperatures first thing if you can get to the BIOS. If they look good, you don't need to turn your computer off super quick and...

Probably should check temperatures first thing if you can get to the BIOS. If they look good, you don't need to turn your computer off super quick and fix the heatsink/fan/cpumount/whatever.

After you perfect your BIOS settings, and install your OS; monitor temperatures during CPU/GPU load to ensure proper cooling and case ventilation.

Solution
Yes mate atx 12v.

You should have 2 blocks of 4 12v connectors coming from the PSU on their own cable.

These may be clipped to together to form an 8 pin but will disconnect to form 2 x 4 pins.

Only one of these will fit & only one way round so its impossible to plug in wrong.
