I have a phenom xII hexacore 1055t cpu with asus sabertooth 990fx rev2.0. can i upgrade my ram with corsair vengeance pro 2400 mhz (2x8gb) ? what is the best stable ram for my setup?

Solution
If it's DDR3 and not 4 it should work with anything DDR3, Faster can always go slower but not the other way around. If it really is DDR3 it should work up to 1600 MHz on that setup. DDR4 can't even fit in DDR3 slot.
Let me put it this way, that processor has 1333MHz memory controller, everything over that is considered OC. It should work up to 1600 MHz over which there's actually no point going. You can use that RAM providing it's DDR3 but BIOS would default to 1333MHz and you will have to set up to 1600 manually. If you ever change to an FX processor, 1866 MHz would be about best frequency with potential to OC a bit over 2000 MHz.

So, as per you can I install 2400 mhz ddr3 ram in my system and it will run at lower frequency i.e. 1333 mhz? or it will not work at all? moreover, if the RAM (corsair vengeance pro 2400 mhz ) is designed for intel 6th gen cpu, will it work with amd phemon xII 1055t?
