Which SSD to buy

Hi,

I can choose between 3 SSDs

1. Kingston SSDNow V300

2. Kingston HyperX Fury

3. SanDisk X400

SanDisk has 5 years warranty, others have 3 years.

All are similar in price.

I would get the hyperx, even with a shorter warranty, if the drive fails, they will not recover your data for free. Also do you really intend to be out 3 weeks without a drive when they are repairing it if something goes wrong?

Kingstons reputation for replacement is a bit nicer as far as just replacing it without arguing. Also I would hold off on the X400 until a second generation of them is released.

I just need it for my laptop that I use for some school work presentations and websurfing. Currently I have really bad 5400rpm hdd inside so I'm looking for 120GB.. Which one would you recommend out of 3 ?

i'm leaning towards X400 from sandisk but really like hyperx as well

hyperx has been around a bit longer and seems to be more consistent over time with speeds, reliability (although you cannot measure this), and price. The x400 is a good choice as well, the v300 is the cheapest option and also only worth it if you plan on using your laptop for less than 6 months. The v300's have a terrible reputation for failure.
