Hi, I'm thinking about buying an additional RAM stick. What I have now is these dual 2x4GB 1866mhz DDR3 Corsairs.

I'm thinking of adding this single 8Gb stick:

But I'm very concerned about that Unbuffered CL10 DIMM part in its title, since my original memory is just DDR3 without any specifications like "DIMM" or "CL10" etc.
Will they be compatible at all? Or I'm better off buying the same 2x4GBs instead?
Just for reference, I have ASUS P8Z77-V LX Z77 mobo.

I would just pick up a set of these and call it done. http://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-PC3-14900-1866MHz-9-10-9-28-F3-1866C9D-16GSR/dp/B009V52440/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1462362464&sr=8-4&keywords=F3-1866C9D-16GXM

Trying to add a 8gb stick to a 2x4gb set is not a wise idea, you first have to figure out if your board will support different size stick, then your board will be running in dual and single channel mode. There are just to many things that can go wrong with what your trying to do. with ram as cheap as it is its better to just buy a new set.

I guess adding a 8gb is not the best thing to do then. I will probably go with buying the same 2x4Gb as I'm a bit limited in buying the whole new 16 Gb set. Thanks for clearing that up though!
