Please I really need help..! :'(
My Notebook is Asus X550JX-XX187D Intel Core i7-4720HQ, 4GB DDR3 (up to 12 GB), VGA Nvidia GeForce GTX950M 2GB, OS Win10pro 64bit.

The problem is on RAM, which I add new RAM with Samsung 8GB DDR3 PC3L 1600Mhz/PC12800 1,35v.

Before I upgraded, I played many games with med-high settings. After I upgrade the RAM, any of my games are suddenly crash between 5-30mins playing (the screen came with many blue red lines screen and breezing sounds that is so disturbing). I have to hard reset it to begin again. Otherwise, my system setting shows that RAM is already 12,00GB (11,9 usable).

What I have done (based on many forums):
a. I checked with CPU-Z and there is no error.
b. I checked with Windows Memory Diagnostic Tools and nothing wrong.
c. I have changed Virtual Memory with Custom Setting option with recommended setting.
d. I have changed the graphic option on game setting to low graphic.
e. I went to Asus Service Center to identify the problems but it seems the technician didn't know the problems except bad module of RAM.
f. Uninstall the RAM from machine and everything is normal.

What I am not doing yet:
a. Change BIOS advanced settings for timing and voltage (Aptio Setup Utilities do not let changes any of them). I'm pretty sure the problems are here!
b. Update BIOS (My version is already the newest based on Asus sites).
c. Testing of different type of RAM, either 4GB or 8GB (Don't have one).

Positive games that crash:
a. Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag
b. Batman Arkham Knight
c. GTA V
d. COD Advanced Warfare

I really need tips and solution for this situation, because i just bought this notebook 1 week ago just for gaming actually, and I really appreciate that if I can use the same module of RAM that I've just bought, hard to buy a new one. :(

Thank you

I have the same laptop model and had the same problem with crashing during games.
I have a kingston module KHX1600C9S3L/8G
I fixed the problem by lowering the ram speed from 1600mhz to 1333mhz in bios ( I installed a modded bios) and since then no problems anymore.
good luck
