Good evening,
I'm currently new here and I would like to OC my cpu. Here's my computer specs.:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955
Graphic card: Gigabyte GTX560 Ti
RAM: 8GB 1333Mhz (one is kingston and other is Ballistix)
PSU: CORSAIR CX500
Cooler: Be Quiet Pure Rock
Case: IN WIN Dragon Slayer Black Mini Tower

That's about it, so getting to the business:
I'm in need of complete beginner help, I don't know ANYTHING about overclocking and everything related to bios. I would appreciate if someone would be kind enough to give me THE right direction of where should I start off and what should I do. Thank you in regards!

Solution
So to be realistic, try aiming for 3.7-3.9Ghz overclocks on the Phenom II x4 without raising the core voltage.

Get into bios settings, go to advanced settings or advanced mode (sorry, was an ASUS user), find and change the CPU multiplier to 18.5 for starters. If it boots up, try gaming abit on it and see whether the game or Windows crashed or not.
If not, you can proceed onto higher overclocks until 19.5 on the multiplier while everything on auto. Oh and disable AMD Turbo Clock/core (sorry, forgotten already :p)

Tutorial if your BIOS is the classic one, should prove helpful.
