I have a lenovo thinkstation s20 and i wanted to build a gaming pc but instead chose to modify the one i currently have.
So i wanted to install a GeForce GTX 970 4GB card but was told that the thinkstation wouldnt be compatible. I need advice on how i could make it compatible with my thinkstation s20.

Solution
As far as I can tell by looking at this spec page for that rig...
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/pd005642

...the main incompatibility with that GPU is the PSU is made for connecting to a workstation GPU, with a 10 pin (2x5) VRM connector, and 4 pin (2x2) graphics connector.

You should be able to fix that by getting a decent quality PSU of at least 500w. That's assuming the physical fit of the GPU and PSU are not a problem. Those brand name rigs sometimes have cramped cases.

Thank you and I also had one more concern.
I went online and found the graphics card list that are compatible with my Lenovo think station s20
and they are only the following:
•NVIDIA Quadro FX380 256MB PCIe
•NVIDIA Quadro FX580 512MB PCIe
•NVIDIA Quadro FX4800 1.5GB PCIe
•NVIDIA Quadro FX1800 768MB PCIe
•NVIDIA Quadro NVS290 256MB PCIe
•ATI FirePro V5700 512MB PCIe
•ATI FirePro V3700 256MB PCIe
•ATI FirePro V7750 1GB PCIe

I was wondering why are these the only ones that are compatible, I have heard that it had something to do with the motherboard.
And I am planning to use the pc for gaming and none of the above cards satisfy my demands for the games I want to play.
