Hi all :)

I just received my new CISCO RV130W. I instelled it, set it up accordingly using the wizard and this is the result:
My desctop PC has no internet access but pings all sites, also the network connection status reports "Internet access". The desktop is connected through a LAN cable...
Wireless devices (laptop and phone) have internet acces no problem?! (I'm writing this form my laptop which is connected to the internet through this same router)

I'm sure I haven't set it up correctly, I kind of knew that CISCO routers are harder to set up since they have more features...

thanks in advance :)

Use Device Manager to access your network adapter and check the configuration settings. Make sure that they match what you have set up on the router: i.g., DHCP, DNS Gateway, subnet mask, etc..

Are you able to go into the command mode to run and post the results of "ipconfig /all"? Compare the output to that of the laptop with regards to the router's configuration settings.

It is definitely a BUG with the firmware of the router! I just updated the firmware and that somewhat improved the situation. Now I officially "have" internet. Skype is green, I can enter google, aaaand, that's about it... Whatever link I try to follow from google it doesn't open?! Only some sites can be entered.

Buggy Router :(

I'd appreciate if someone has something to add to this...

Thanks Ralston18 I did what you said and every thing looks normal, the adapter passed all the tests in the diagnostics. the ipconfig-s of the two machines look in order, IP addresses ...1.100 and ...1.102.

And it actually works fine now, no problems. It seems that I needlessly bashed on the router, I figured out why it still glitched for few minutes after the update... It was because the laptop and phone were no all the time while the router was updating (and resetting to factory defaults) with IP addresses set. So when I set it up (with the same WiFi password) they immediately connected to the Wi-Fi with their old IP addresses, and that apparently created a conflict. (the laptop actually displayed a warning message that there was an IP address conflict). So that's why I couldn't enter some sites...

So, the bottom line is that the firmware update fixed the issue.
