Yet another thread about Fury X's PSU requirements

Hello there. I've read on the Internet that a quality 650W PSU should be just fine for the Fury X. Of course, you could say there are PSU calculators and stuff, but I'm not used to trust these things, it feels weird to me. Currently using EVGA Supernova NEX650G, is it enough?

Other components:
MSI B150 PC MATE
i5 6600
16GB DDR4 at 2133Mhz
Kingston V300 120GB SSD
2x WD Caviar Blue 7200 RPM
2x 120mm fans

Thanks for your answers.

Solution
650w is enough, however the NEX650G is not EVGA's best unit in fact its lower quality than the 650 G2 that is priced around the same.

Personally I would replace the PSU with a 650 G2 or a 750 B2 to be sure. That said it should work, if you can't afford to pick one up immediately.

Fury-X needs two 8 pin pcie power connectors.
Each has a potential draw of 150w.
Add to that 75w from the pcie slot, and you are looking at a maximum power draw of 375w.

The i5-6600 @3.3 is a 65w processor and the rest amounts to hardly nothing.
650w is about right.

I have no problem overprovisioning a PSU a bit. Say 20%.
It will run cooler, quieter, and more efficiently in the middle third of it's range.
A PSU will only use the wattage demanded of it, regardless of it's max capability.

If your build is for gaming, I think you can do things better.

Many games depend on faster cores. A i5-6600K @3.5 does not cost much more and with a Z170 motherboard, you can up the multiplier to the 4.5 range and higher.

I think 120gb is too small for windows today. Make that 240gb at least.

Why 2 hard drives? I hope you do not think raid-0 will be of any use to you.
And B150 does not support raid anyway.

Unless you need to store large sequential files such as videos, I suggest you buy a larger ssd up front and defer on any hard drives until you need the room.
