Yes it will work fine, and be a decent match in speed to the Core 2 Duo CPU. If you have a Core 2 Quad that is of decent speed, you may want to look at a faster video card to match it for games.

Cpu will not be a problem.I watched few videos on YT and i noticed that E8400 runs skyrim smoothly and on 50+ FPS paried with good gpu.Thanks!
