i7-4790K Temps reaching 100 degrees C

My computer's CPU (intel core i7-4790K) has been running very high temps every since we got it the computer.

Today we decided to see if it was fitted correctly and if the thermal paste was good.
The thermal paste appeared to be pretty bad, so we removed the old one and changed to new.

I started the pc again, but the temps were exactly the same.

Here's a video of the usage and temperatures when playing battlefield 4 on max settings, and in the end playing on lowest settings without the temperatures decreasing?

A lot of people with identical coolers (stock) have no problems with the temperatures at all, so I'm not sure why I do :/

Also, here's a picture of CPUID HWMonitor stuff :

What is going on there? Minimum and maximum core speeds are the same, maximum core utilisation is only 50%. Looks like something is making your CPU stick at max frequency because your utilisation in that pic is like 3%

I would reset bios settings to default and check under windows power options that your CPU minimum is allowed to go to 0%. Did you pick performance mode on your Samsung ssd? That locks the CPU into max frequency.

The rest of the computer have perfect temps, I applied about a small peanut size of thermal and held the cooler against it for about 10 seconds and then I "mounted" the cooler where it should be.

I added a picture to my post as well.

Unless you meant the size of a cooked grain of rice, a small peanut size seems to be an awful lot of thermal paste. Thermal paste should fill the voids between the CPU and the cooler, not isolate them.

I had set it to maximum performance, however setting it to something else like maximum reliability doesn't seem to change the temperatures at all.

And how do I reset my BIOS? Have never used that thing.

By peanut I meant this : http://previews.123rf.com/images/123bogdan/123bogdan1002/123bogdan100200029/6464886-peanuts-background-Stock-Photo-peanuts-peanut-wallpaper.jpg

However I don't think that's the issue since the thermal paste that was applied by "professionals" at inet.se had exactly the same temps like it has now, after I changed the paste.

A peanut is a LOT of thermal paste. It should be a grain of rice worth. That much is probably ozing out the sides and on to the board which is not good.

Your HW monitor is not showing any issues the temp looks ok under load, or is that idle. Can you show us HW monitor after you load it up?

That's under idle.
I'll add a picture when it's under load in a minute, just gonna launch a stress test.

Disabling Samsung performance/advanced mode seems to have worked, it's not at 70C when playing battlefield 4 at max and the clock max values have changed to 4400MHz :D
