Restarting PC always loads to BIOS + Hybernation problem + Neon mouse not turning off

Hello,

I've assembled my rig about ~1.5 years ago. It's not a big issue for daily usage, but when it comes to installation of drivers or updates, it becomes a bit complicated. I'm using windows 8.1 pro. Shutting down and starting the PC works great, but when i press "restart" button, it instantly loads me BIOS (in about 30 secs). For daily usage it's not a big problem, because this button can be just stay untouched, but when i re-install windows or other important apps/updates, the pc needs to restart, it loads to BIOS too. I can't leave my pc alone when installing something, for example, when i have windows updates and the pc restarts 3 or 4 times restarting it manually with on/off button starts to be annoying.

Also, i have some problems with hybernation. I'm never using it anymore, because i have SSD, disc, but i would like to understand what's going on. When i set a button mode to "hybernation" or do it manually with mouse-click, my pc turns off perfectly, but then in a period of 5-30+ minutes it turns on automatically. This happened more than once when i get up in the morning, i hear pc running and see keyboard glowing. And it is like 50/50. Sometimes it turns up to windows log in screen, sometimes to bios.

I also have a Xzero mouse, picked up with a great deal. Its beautiful, colourful, but when i turn off the pc via windows 8 default screen (not desktop, that kinda app drawer) or when i see the logging in screen (choosing user to continue using pc) --> turning off my PC this way leaves my mouse still blinking and changing colours just like pc was on. Despite the fact, that lights of my neon keyboard turns off normally, mouse stays. When i turn off pc via windows 8 start menu button, it is all OK.

I should mention that these problems occurred on more than 1 clean installations of windows.

Any ideas?

Which board do you have? Sounds like some BIOS settings here.

1. You should ensure your OS drive is set as boot priority #1 (and attached to SATA port #0 on the board is recommended).

2. Do you have "Wake on LAN" or similar activated in your BIOS?

3. There will be an option for "recovery state from power loss" (worded something along those lines) - ensure that's not set to "turn back on" or "BIOS" etc.

As far as the mouse remaining on, but not the keyboard - that's pretty common (although not 100% sure why). Some boards provide* an "always on" feature (I think the logic is for charging phones etc while the computer is off) - perhaps you're attached to one of those ports?

*Gigabyte do for sure, I think ASUS have something similar.

I have boot priorities selected correctly.
My motherboard is Asus Z97M-PLUS, it's kinda a gaming rig.

I'll surely check these points you mentioned (a bit later when i have more time to perform testing).
