So I bought a 7850 1gb ddr5 Radeon today but when I was gaming the fan started to spin fast then slow fast then again slow, does it have to do with my PSU? It's 5 years old and I heard it was very basic, also I heard it's not 600w, rather 400w. Can you guys help me please, today was not my day, someone stold my new bike... and now this, I would appreciate it much if you guys helped me.

Which fan was changing its speed? the PSU fan, Case fan, or CPU fan? if it was the PSU fan it was likely at or near peak output and needing to cool itself down. Yes I would look into getting a different power supply. Not familure with that PSU but cheap PSU's after full loading for 5 years are pretty much warn out.

I do not have that GPU bit that sounds like normal operation to me more fan rpm under load then slows when cool.

If it is surging slow fast slow continually every 2.5 seconds then that does seem odd if it has 5 second run cycles continuously that would also be odd but is it runs for 5 seconds then is slow for a munit or two that would be normal.
