Laptop won't work hard while playing games

Recently, my ASUS X450J has been a trouble for gaming. While normal laptops would work harder (and make more noise), my laptop is just really silent, It really lags while playing games. Sometimes it just goes back to normal (more noise, capable of gaming) but only for a period of time, then it goes back all silent and big performance decrease. (Also, the noise it makes while it's working harder is abnormal than how it used to be.) Is this has something to do with overclocking or it needs to be brought to service center?

Here are the specs I can only give :
Processor: Intel Core i7-4700HQ CPU@2.40GHz 2.40GHz
RAM: 4.00GB (3.88 GB usable)
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GT 745M ; Intel HD Graphics 4600
(Ask if I can give more)

Noise does not make a system work better, all that means is that it's louder.

Issue would be if the fan is not working, which is what I am guessing you are talking about the "noise". It's like living in a luxury house with construction going on and then saying that it's not a luxury house because there is no banging of hammers around you since that is what you heard.

First thing would be to get the heatsink and fan looked at and possibly replace the fan. At least clean up the heatsink and apply some good thermal paste as well. I have used noctua NT-H1 paste recently for some laptops I cleaned up, got a 10C drop in many of them after doing that.

That could be possible since my W button is gone and there are holes that goes directly to the inside of the laptop. So what you're saying is, the fan's not working, and cpu heats up and the performance decreases?

Or does this problem has to do anything with laptop's hardware problem since I'm playing games so much?
(also thx for answering)

Holes that go to the inside of the laptop? What do you mean? If you damaged the laptop, that could easily cause issues with the fan. Fan not working properly is one of the main issues that can happen when a laptop is abused or not treated carefully.

Yes games can cause the hardware to fail sooner, things overheat, thermal paste breaks down.

Sorry for the really late reply. It worked, for a month. It all goes back normal. But suddenly some hours ago the problem came back. The problems seems inconsistent. I dont know why, but I can tell you, when the laptop is really silent the performance is really really down. Vice Versa.
