Hey guys!
I'm moving soon and have been organizing my garage and packing stuff. So I found an old computer that doesn't work any more (mobo problem) and decided to take the HDD, RAM, and CPU. I'll have to ditch the rest of the comp, and I don't know how to store the CPU. If it was an Intel one, that didn't have any pins on the CPU, this would be no problem, however, it's an AMD.
Please keep in mind the following:
1. It is going to be stored for a long period of time
2. It has pins on it
3. I do not have the original packing
4. I have ESD proof foam, bags, bubble bags, etc.
5. The thermal paste is already safely removed
I was actually thinking of going savage and cutting arund the part on the mobo where the CPU is in and just putting this in a ESD bag. Is that safe? Any other suggestions?
