HEVC video playback failures

Attempting to play back HEVC videos and get skipping, player termination, and freeze. Win 8.2 with WMP, VLC 2.1.2, VLC 3.0, Potplayer, DMPlayer, 5KPlayer, and MPC. Hardware is i7 3770, 16GB, SSD, GTX670. All players and hardware function on any video but HEVC.
Any suggestions? If this is not appropriate forum please redirect

If you are torrenting illegal files, please don't ask for advice here, but yeah I'd say the files were damaged or coded incorrectly.

I assume you are saying given my hardware/software environment it should work if nothing is broken. The episodes are a 13 episode series and all 13 fail but it could of been the way they were constructed. Will try downloading again. Thank youi for the input.
