How much could I overclock my gpu

System specs are i5 3570k p8h77-v 16gb 1600mhz ram and cx750w corsair psu how much could I safely overclock my gpu thanks

Any ideas rough safe starting point would be niceand with this psu would it be safe to buy a motherboard I could overclock with and overclock both cpu and psu

I used to overclock my system... I have since stopped and started to buy more powerful parts. With a 970, you can get another 970 and SLI with great results. If you can afford it, that would be my suggestion as that would give you the most power.

If you want to overclock, go into the nvidia control panel and start upping the clock speed slowly. Keep an eye on the temps and check performance.

i find msi afterburner to work better for me than nvidia control panel
but you should for overclocking just move the settings up a bit first and slowly just trial and error test it
and for overclocking remember one thing "learn before you do!" if not you may end up damaging your system and bad things could happen

Had a little play around with msi afterburner and the valley seem to get pretty stable overclocks at 1553mhz and 1610mhz but had to leave cos of time but when I get home tonight gonna run the neck marks for longer and see what's best am I overclocking too high
