I am looking for budget SSDs to use as my primary drive (OS Partiton). These are the ones available in my country that are in my budget. Which one should I go for? I am too confused between the technologies involved. MLC, TLC etc..

I do have a Kingston Hyperx Fury 240Gb in one of my laptops, and it works fine (However, no one recommends it :/ ). Not sure if the technology differentiation will affect me in terms of reliability. My current options are:

  • 256Gb Transcend SSD360S (Couldn't find any review on this. SS370s yes, but not 360s)
    Crucial BX100 250GB
    Crucial BX200 240GB
    Adata SP550 240GB
    Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB
    Silicon Power S60 240GB

Anything else, is right out of my budget, as others are way more expensive here.

Thanks for your help :)

Owner of BX100 250GB, it performs in my setup nearly as well as my Samsung 850 EVO and Intel 540. Go with the 100.

Sandisk also makes decent budget SSDs.

From the reviews I've been seeing, people are still recommending BX100 over BX200. Even Tomshardware review says "Even the BX100, the BX200's predecessor, is superior in every way."

So..which is it? BX200 or BX100?

I realized, I have both of them. Just checked my newegg order history.

1 x Crucial BX100 2.5" 250GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT250BX100SSD1

I could not really tell the difference in using them, maybe the performance difference can be seen more easily with a benchmarking software.

Thanks. Bought the BX100 version.
