So I just got kali Linux on a virtual box and I have been having problems getting my host VPN's ip to show up as the same on my virtualbox. My IP will be the correct VPN ip on windows, but on my kali Linux it is my real ip. How do I fix this? Thank you in advance, and by the way I have almost no experience I'm just beginning with this stuff so please be specific. Thank you

Solution
It depends on what you are connecting to on the far end, you need to match the type of vpn they use. Linux supports almost all forms of vpn you just need to install the proper client.
You would have to run the vpn client on the linux. This gets messy when you have multiple OS trying to use the same VPN.

Pretty much the reason the pc uses the VPN ip is it has a new adapter created by the VPN client and that adapter gets assigned the vpn address. You would have to provide something similar on the linux machine.
