google chrome problem

every time i open chrome it either comes up with an ad or with a directory to my disk C, is this a virus? also i would upload a screenshot but i dont have any programs to screenshot

This really does not explain enough, a screenshot would be real helpful here. Assuming you have a Windows unit, you have the ability to take a screenshot. Look at your keyboard when the screen changes and tape the PrintScrn button twice. Then, open up Microsoft Paint and paste, you will see a full screenshot.
