Asus Anti-surge detected last power on

Solution
Asus Anti-Surge messages means your PSU's voltages went out of specs and circuitry on the motherboard turned power off to reduce the likelihood of damage to your PC.

The first and most simple thing you can do is make sure your PC case's PSU air filter, if present, isn't clogged - an overheating PSU can cause anti-surge to trip, it happened on my Antec Earthwatt a few years ago. Cleaned it up, no problems since.

If cleaning the PSU and case air filters fails to fix it, then you either have a more complex issue with the PSU, a load that's putting excessive noise or transients on the PSU or an excessively sensitive anti-surge circuit.

How should my PSU fan face. Mine faces downwards? Is that ok. What does the PSU air filter look like.

If your case has a PSU air filter, it would usually be at the bottom of the case and intended for a PSU facing down. The filter would be directly below the PSU fan and may be externally accessible through a tray of some sort on either side, rear or front. On my Antec 300v2, it is a small tray flush along the bottom of the left side.

I had the same problem and I finally managed to find a solution: before changing your PSU, check your cables. I had poorly connected power cable to motherboard which caused the power surge.
