Slow/Faulty Hard Disk

Hi,
I recently installed Windows7 ON my PC. And since I have installed it, my PC is taking a long time to boot. First the Win7 logo shows against a black screen, which stays for 3-4 mins. Then, the 'Welcome' message is displayed just for a split second and then I am greeted by my desktop. And very soon after booting, the HD drivers install, every time. And every time the HD drivers intall, the Hard Disk name changes. What can it be, any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Your hard drive may have some bad sectors. I'd run CHKDSK and let it check for and attempt repair of any bad sectors it finds. Bear in mind that depending on your hard drive's size, this could run for an hour or two.

Good luck.
