Hi Everyone, I have a sunday school and need to have wifi installed. We can not run wifi extenders, nor cabling as the building is not ours. So wifi modem is my only option. Is there any modem that will cover at least 200 meters, not fussed about price as I just need it running

Thank you in advance

Be careful about the word "modem" if you actually need a router that contains a modem it greatly limit the selection. You need to verify that any router containing a modem the ISP says will work.

Since you have no other requirements listed I would go with either a dual band router that says it runs at 600m or if the price difference is not to great you could one that has 802.11ac support. The speed quoted would be 1200m. They of course get nowhere near those speeds.

These speed points tend to be the optimum from a price/performance standpoint. There are many routers that can do high bandwidth protocols but if the end device does not also have the feature it will just slow down to the devices speed so the extra money did not...
If it was 1 huge open room then maybe you would have a chance. 100 meters is the pretty standard number given for indoor wireless and it does not really go that far in most cases. You also likely have to worry about the number of units connected. The normal recommended number of connected devices is 10 but that varies a lot depending on traffic.

The vast majority of devices on the market transmit at the legal maximum power so have very similar coverage. The construction of the building makes far more difference than the tiny differences between routers. \

The standard solution is to run ethernet to a number of locations and install AP but if you can not run ethernet that option is out. If this was residential I would recommend powerline networks to act as the ethernet cable. In commercial buildings powerline devices to not work as well

I suspect there is not a solution unless you have tv coax or something between the rooms.

It is fairly rare to get a end device that has more than 2 antenna which is the cause of the speed limitation.

It generally doesn't matter anyway since the internet connection speed tends to be a limit before the wireless for most people.

If you stick with the major brands you likely will have little issues. I tend to like asus and tplink but other large brand names work just as well.
