Transferring SSD to new laptop

Hey, just this week I purchased a new laptop after 3 years of usage with my former computer but I only recently (9 months ago) bought a relatively expensive 1TB Crucial MX200 SSD and installed it on the other laptop as a replacement to a failed HDD. Was curious how those here would suggest I go about this.

Here is my situation...

Laptop 1 (old)
1TB SSD (OS installed)
No HDD
Windows 10 (Originally was Windows 7, I upgraded via the free update)

Laptop 2 (bought this week)
128GB SSD (OS installed)
1TB HDD
Windows 10 (from factory)

What I want to do, is move that 1TB SSD to my new laptop and perhaps move the 1TB HDD from my new laptop to the old laptop. Therefore, here are my questions...

1. Assuming I add the 1TB HDD to my old laptop, how can I transfer the OS from the SSD to the HDD? (Yes I know it will be much slower, but I really don't need that computer for heavy usage anymore) I have seen many videos on youtube of people transferring their OS from an HDD to and SSD but will the method also work vice versa?
2. How do I properly format the 1TB SSD (after moving the OS) so I can plug it into my new laptop with no issues? Ideally I would continue to use the 128GB SSD with the OS already installed on it but the 1TB SSD as room for more storage.

Any help would be appreciated, hopefully I wasn't very confusing. Thanks!

Solution
Normally you'd -
connect both 1TB disks to a desktop computer and clone SSD to HDD;
connect HDD to old laptop and make sure it boots properly (bcd fixing may be necessary);
put SSD into laptop2, clean it, make partition, and quick format.

Done.

Ok, so you're saying it IS possible to go from SSD --> HDD and not just from HDD --> SSD. I assumed that was possible, but wanted to clarify before I tried.
