My outdated r7-250 is starting to really show its age. Any tips or tricks to prolong its death until I can raise the funds to get a GTX 960 (my CPU is the fx-6300 and I got the r7-250 for free) (that's why it's crap)! I get good enough performance out of it for now but I need it to live!
Any tips to keep my r7-250 alive?

in seriousness i don't think there is all that much you can do to r7-250 cards to improve their performance. obviously run the latest drivers. tweak the graphics settings in every game to try and match the optimal frame rates for your card. try and buy a second hand r9 290, those cards are freaking insane. the r9 290 will also run hotter so you may need to keep an eye on your computer's temperatures!
