Hello, I have recently tried to upgrade my CPU and motherboard. I also installed a new CPU cooler. I took out the old mobo, put in the new one, and put in the cpu. I know I seated it correctly, I read the manual. Put some paste on it, and started installing the cpu fan (hyper 212 evo). After finishing that, I made sure I didn't get any thermal paste on the motherboard. Then I put in the GPU, and started plugging everything up. I plugged the PSU up, turned it on, and it came on. But that only lasted about 5 seconds. Everything did turn on however. But I couldn't start the PC again from that power outlet, I would have to unplug the PSU from the wall, go to a new outlet with the PSU turned off, then plug it into a new wall and turn the PSU back on. It still did the same thing. I know that the PSU is good because after all this I reinstalled my old mobo and CPU and GPU. Everything worked just fine with that setup. My PSU also is and 850 watt so it should be plenty for the new setup. Any guesses on if the problem is the cpu or mobo? I also tested to see if the 24 pin was the problem, I put in the smaller piece of the 24 pin, and the computer stayed on. But whenever I put in the entire 24 pin it refused to stay on. Just to be sure a short wasnt happening I also took out the new mobo from the case and put it on the box it came with. I put in only one stick of RAM, didn't plug in the GPU, only the mobo and the cpu were going to get power, and the PC wouldn't even start. I tried the CMOS battery fix, also didn't work.
Here is my new setup:
I5 4690k
R9 390
Z97 PC Mate from MSI
Evga supernova b2 850
Logisys cs369bk

Old setup:
A10 5800k
R9 390
Asrock fm2a88x extreme4+ atx fm2+
Evga supernova b2 850
Logisys cs369bk

Appreciate any help!
