Should You Buy Extra RAM for an Old Computer?

I have an old computer (from 2008), a Dell Optiplex 360. The computer has 4 GB of RAM (two slots with 2 GB each), but I can replace those with two 8 GB sticks and upgrade it to 16 GB. I am wondering whether I should or not. I mostly use this PC for video editing and it takes really long to export a video. I know that sometimes a computer is no better than the weakest part, so maybe adding more RAM will not help at all. I also do not want to reach the point where I replace so many parts that I could have just as easily bought a new computer. How can I figure out if upgrading the RAM is worth it or not?

Model: Dell Optiplex 360
OS: Windows 7 pro 64bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz
RAM: 4GB
Hard Drive: 4-TB (4000GB)
