Need advice on cpu upgrade

Hi. I have an older pc I'm trying to make due with. I recently replaced the video card and now my cpu seems to be the bottle neck. It's a AMD athlon 7750 black edition. Dual core 2.7ghz. All I can find is used CPUs with that socket style(am2+). Is used ok? Also if I go with a quad core with a lower ghz would it be worth the trouble?

Putting better CPUs into that PC will make it faster, but it will still be about 7 years behind the times.
Instead of wasting money on a CPU, The only upgrade I would recommend is an i5 4460 and a Gigabyte H81 HD3 motherboard. Will make your PC bang up to date.
