Upgrade GPU or CPU

Hi folks, i currently have a i5-6500 cpu and a gtx 970 strix gpu installed in my gaming rig. I've been planning on upgrading my cpu to a i7 6700k in a couple of months but then i saw that 1070 is coming out in a month or two and it's left me undecided. I would really appreciate some tips on this matter.

than you defetnly shouldn't, just upgrade when u think you really need. and looking for your rig, i wouldn't for the next 3 years unless u want every small option to ultra like toad swet or something.

hey man, i make this very easy for you

-i5 6500 vs i7 6700, game improvement almost none max 2-5fps. will only give a big noticeable difference if you lifestream and or video edit.
- gtx 970 vs 1070,gtx 970 for 1080 since it can already play games on ultra and in the next few years too... since u already own one, its not needed to upgrade( or do you dislike your fps on ultra that much)???

honestly, i really don't feel like upgrading, i just want my rig to handle the newest games on at least high with 60+ fps in 1080p. So you guys think i should save my money and stick with my current rig? I apologize if this topic was rather dumb, i'm not the most experienced person when it comes to this.
