All 5 Windows 7 PCs on the LAN randomly loose network connection a few times a day.
Loosing network connection meaning:
- A yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it on the Network icon in the system tray
- A red X
- A yellow spinning sun

What we have done so far:
1) Windows 7 updates are enabled
2) NIC drivers were all reinstalled
3) Ethernet cables were replaced
4) SonicWall router was replaced
5) Cable modem was replaced

We are now waiting to replace the Switch.

Until that happens, will it help to have BOTH Wifi and wired connectivity configured on all the PCs (but to the same router) so that if the wired Ethernet connection drops again, the Wifi will continue to provide uninterrupted network connectivity.

Solution
A bad network card or port can cause these issues, have you tried removing one computer at a time from the network to see if one of them is causing this? Try different ports on the switch? Which cables did you replace, from switch to computers or from switch to router or all of them? Did you check the network jacks if you are using them or are they direct runs to the computers? Make sure there are no loop connections where one port of the switch is connected to another port directly. The router and the modem should have been the last things to replace after you check the NICs, cables and switch, those two are the least likely things to cause issues. If they had network connections but no internet access, then modem and router...

If they had network connections but no internet access, then modem and router should be checked first, if it's a connection to the LAN, they are last, although a router issue may cause this also if DHCP on it goes bad.
