SSD same as HDD

I just bought a SSD and I opened a game to see if its faster that my RAID 0 HDD's and its the same! Shouldn't the SSD be faster?

The SSD will only improve game load times and checkpoint save times. Performance will be the same. Objects that load dynamically ingame will be faster and smoother but fps will be unchanged.

That's an unfair comparison. A RAID0 array of SSDs would be faster than a RAID0 array of HDDs. However, what you're doing there is like saying "I had three 980s in SLI, why isn't my new single 980ti faster?"

To compare speeds, you'll need to compare the SSDs speed to that of a single HDD if you want an accurate result.

But what I'm saying is that the SSD is going as fast is a reg HDD. All I did was pop in the SSD in my rig and that's it. Do I need drivers?

I did a test with sonic adventure 2 because I seen it on a SSD and Ik how it should be but I ran it on my HDD and the my SSD and it was the same. I seen a livestreamer play it on a SSD and it loaded it In half the time it does now

What's your specs? Did you try other games? Sounds like the issue is elsewhere if the benchmarks were fine.

I didn't mean the specs were an issue but if you are only trying 1 game then you can't conclude the ssd is the issue. What were your benchmark speeds anyways?

What antivirus do you have? It maybe scanning anything that you open. You can try to disable it and open the game. There can also be issues with windows doing the same. Is there anything that shows any more than normal usage, even if just a little, while opening a game?
