Yo guys, i own a pc and ps4. My specs are:
i5 4460, 3.20 ghz
8gb ram
gigabyte gtx 970
1920x1080 is my res

This build is costlier than a ps4 and i believe its better too, but for some reason my gaming experience is not working that way. Eg: Dark Souls 3. I own this game in pc and rented it once for ps4. But my gameplay in pc is not as smooth as it was on ps4! My pc also makes noises once i get into the game- but thats a topic for later. I want to know if there is anything i should do to make my games more smooth. By saying "not smooth" i do not mean massive fps drops. It is always above 50 on medium to high, but i play on low due to the sound(shame) but the game itself, example when looking around.etc. feels.......'edgy'

The build should be better than the ps4. What other games are you experiencing the same problem? I dont know much about Dark souls 3 that its optimized or not. are you graphics drivers up to date?

You mentioned the sound. What case are you using for your rig? Is it in a well ventilated place?

I am not familiar with Dark Souls but often PC versions of games are just awful ports of the console version and that causes performance problems. I asked about ventilation because if for some reason your GPU is overheating, it will throttle itself down and that would also cause "jerky" feeling.

I have a fractal design refine r4 with window panel for my case, and for the well ventilated question its 50-50 coz i got wires and controllers on top of the case and it is quite secluded, not much though.

Leave virtualization on if you want. It's not that big of an impact as spread spectrum and legacy USB being disabled. Disabling spread spectrum let's your CPU core up. Disabling legacy USB fixes issues where your USB keyboard will share the same IRQ as your GPU. Try it and let me know your results. I think you will be real happy.

First what are those "noises"? If it's a fan issue that is revving up too much you may have a heat issue or a bad fan.

As for looks vs a PS4, your system will be able to get to higher frames and better resolutions and visual candy than a PS4, depending on the game. As others have said, a badly optimized came will play poorly on a PC. Not sure what you mean by edgy, if you are playing on low settings, it won't look very good, your anti-aliasing and other setting that sharpen textures and edges are probably all off.

Have you tested the system with benchmarks and monitored temperatures to make sure it's running well? Ran a stress test on it? Prime95 along with HWMonitor will tell you pretty quickly if you have a heat issue.

Sorry for the late reply, really hoped this will help but due to some problem, i cant even get into my bios! I don't know if its the keyboard or the monitor but my monitor only receives signal after my computer is in the log in screen, do you know any solution to this? Thanks anyway.

It sounds like coil whine....is it dangerous? My pc passed all tests in prime95 the first time i ran it. Ya i understand why the games are edgy but i just want to know if its dangerous, if not ill turn them high. Thanks anyway.

Connect your pc to a tv that is on the other side of your living room play at 30FPS vsynced and your pc will be just as smooth as the ps4,specially if you use a controller on both.

I'd replace whatever component is causing the noise. I've never had a system making electrical noise run well for long. Usually end up in a cloud of smoke.

MSI motherboards let you boot to BIOS with a utility. For all others ..shut down the PC and unplug it from the wall for 2mins. When you turn it back on keep hitting the del key. If that doesn't work. Shut the PC down and unplug it again. While it is unplugged hold the power button in for 4 seconds.

I'm also not sure what you mean by "edgy," but if you mean some frame stuttering when you look around quickly, a bit of that can be expected. Basically, if your GPU is rendering 52 frames per second, that isn't an even ratio with whatever your monitor is capable of (60 Hz, 120Hz, or whatever it is), so there are some things that the monitor has to do to make up for those missing frames, and those things can lead to a bit of stutter. You also have to remember that console ports are optimized by a team of people tweaking the settings to try and give the smoothest experience possible, so they'll do things like cap the framerate at 30fps and turn on motion blur to give a consistent experience. You can try messing with your settings, trying to optimize your game to be the best experience for you. This can take some time, especially if you're particular like me.
