Hello,
This is a real puzzler and has wasted allot of my time
i built a computer (see specs below) and it was all working fine with my gt 730 until i upgraded to a gigabyte gtx 960 4gb. The card works like a charm in my brothers newly buily computer but wont even appear in the display drivers of mine. (when i boot up with dvi plugged into the card, i dont get any output at all)

So far I have tried using his ssd and windows 10 with no luck so it is not an OS problem

I have tried another motherboard (Acer b75h2-ad lga 1155) with no luck so it is not a PCI problem

I have tried updating bios on original board with no luck (cant seem to get into the bios flasher on the acer board.)

I have disabled secure boot with no luck

I have disabled integrated graphics with no luck

I have tried manually installing nvidia drivers with no luck
PLEASE DO NOT ASK WHETHER IT IS PLUGGED IN OR SEATED PROPERLY

Specs: 1st board = biostar H61Mlv3 lga 1155 motherboard
2nd board = acer b75h2-ad lga 1155 motherboard
powersupply = corsair VS550w
8gb ram
intel core i5 2400 cpu

Brothers computer:
same power supply
asus lga 1150 motherboard
i3 cpu

Your help is very much appreciated

Try update the intel chipset driver for the MB first by using other GPU. If you still have the same problem, try update the biostar MB BIOS, usually the MB needs the newer version BIOS to recognize the new hardware.

Chipset driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25094/Chipset-Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-for-Intel-NUC
MB BIOS http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=724#download

Add: 1) update the chipset driver. 2) You need to use the DDU uninstall the old GPU driver in safe mode with your old GPU, after that switch the gtx960. DDU http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html 3) Try update the BIOS.

Sorry for the late reply,
I have already used DDU to uninstall the old driver and it didnt work
Afraid I no longer have the biostar board and can't seem to get into the bios flashing utility on the acer board
As for the chipset update, it didnt make any difference
Thankyou for your time
