i've been using my system for 4 years and i had my first blue screen of death 1 month ago. it was "atikmdag.sys" at first,

what i did:
1-) updated my graphic card driver to last version, didn't work.
2-) formatted windows, didn't work. got bsod same day i formatted
3-) tried second solution in this thread
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1656824/atikmdag-sys-error-bsod-startup.html
it looked like it worked but after a few hours i had another bsod, this time it turned to "atikmpag.sys", not "atikmdag.sys" anymore
4-) downgraded my graphic card driver to an older one. looked like worked at first, i could watch a movie without bsod but in a few hours my pc froze, my display was shattered and weird then i had another bsod (as i said above, it was atikmpag.sys, not atikmdag anymore)

i don't know what to do now. need help. thanks

edit: for last 2 days
i tried 3 different old gpu drivers, didn't work
updated my bios , didn't work
stressed my gpu with aida64, everything looks okay

Solution
Had same error on windows 10, i found out that is provoked by LucidVirtu MVP 2.0, even my Matlab wont start if MVP is installed

Fix for this, boot in safe mode and uninstall mvp.
Hi

It would help to know what model your motherboard is and if it has integrated graphics as well as a radeon graphics card ?

So you could run without the radeon graphics card ( what model ?)

May be the fans on graphics card are clogged up with fluff and gpu card is overheating
Or gpu ram is failing

There are programs which can check gpu card temperatures possibly on driver cd disk

If you were over clocking graphics card undo over clock
Consider under clocking it

i have msi hd7850 graphic card
i have never overclocked my graphic card
i downloaded hwinfo to see the temperature. here is the screenshot i took now. i'm not expert but it looks normal

hi there, I had a similar issue but I can't tell if your issue will be gone with this method or not so continue at your own risk

thanks for answer.

i reinstalled my operating system, installed vga driver first and then installed a really old gpu driver that i couldn't find in its official site but dowloaded from an alternative driver website. surprisingly that worked :)
