The Problem Described

Short 1 second computer freezes that are most noticeable watching a video as it results in a noticeable 1 second freeze of audio + video, with short buzz. The computer does not need to be under stress for this to happen. It happens whether watching a simple youtube video, playing a high demand game, or just moving the cursor around the screen. Intervals seem to be about every 10-30 seconds randomly.

The computer

Windows 10 / i7-3820 / 12G DDR3 1333 / Asus P9X79LE mobo / Asus nVidia GTX780

What I've tried so far

- Updated bios drivers
- Updated nVidia drivers and also tried older drivers
- Uninstalled and reinstalled RealTek drivers
- Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, clean install
- New SSD
- Disabled nVidia audio drivers and turned back on
- All W10 updates in place

I'm wondering what the most common reasons are for this type of problem. I originally assumed it might be a graphic/audio problem ( the reason for me originally posting in this forum ), but then I noticed that the computer was doing it regardless of any audio or video ... it just wasn't as noticeable.

Anything thoughts very much appreciated. Ty.

Solution
Solved my own problem and I will post the solution in case this helps anyone else.

Found a loosely related thread on Toms that explained how to locate the Event Viewer in Windows 10. From here, I looked at the error log and found 40,616 instances of an error that was taking place every 10-15 seconds. There error being reported was:

"The network interface 802.11n Wireless LAN Card has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets. Reason: The network driver requested that it be reset. This network interface has reset 40616 time(s) since it was last initialized."

This is a desktop with a wired connection and we don't use the wifi for anything, so I turned it off. No more...

This is a desktop with a wired connection and we don't use the wifi for anything, so I turned it off. No more errors were logged after that and the buzz and freeze have fully disappeared.

This may be a very rare type of problem, but hopefully this helps if anything else is troubleshooting their own issues.

Cheers.
