Hello all,

As the title states, I am trying to set up Crossfire with two AMD 7870s. Here is a link to my current build- http://
Note that the second video card isn't listed there, which is because when I click 'Add a second card for Crossfire" on PC Part Picker, it just duplicates the first card. Here is my second card- http://

So, I've tried to follow guides. Heck, I even wiped my entire PC recently, so I'm starting fresh. Every time I plug power from the PSU into the second card, I get this image when I turn it back on (Note that this is before AND after I've attached the Crossfire bridge)-

If I only have one card plugged in, I don't get this message. I am not moving any connections around, and I am definitely NOT unplugging anything from the Motherboard, so this error message makes no sense. I also JUST upgraded to this 750W PSU, and it should be more than enough to support my build with the two graphics cards. So please, if someone can just point out how I'm completely forgetting to do something obvious, or walk me through step-by-step how to do this, I'd very much appreciate it.

So I figured it out, thought I'd post an answer. My Motherboard (ASRock Z97 Extreme4) has an extra slot on it (above the PCI ports) that you apparently need to run power to if you're going to plug more than one GPU in, which is why I was getting that error every time I tried to run both GPUs at the same time (though if I'm running power to each GPU already, I don't really understand why I need to run even more power to the board...but whatever). So yeah, If you run into problems, check your mobo first for any additional PCI power ports!
