stutter in various games (when hard drive reaches 100%)

I've been having an issue where a lot of games stutter, so i decided to check my temps and usage. everything was below 100% except for the hard drive usage which goes up to 100% whenever i get stuttering. This happens in the witcher 3, and i'm not sure if anyone else has the same issue.

Specs:

HDD: WD BLUE 1TB
CPU: AMD FX-6300
GPU: GTX 960
Motherboard: asus m5a99x evo r2.0

Hi there Florisvengelen,

My suggestion would be to check the drive's health out, as it hits 100% during the freezes. You can run both short and extended tests of WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=WUnwrq
If there is something wrong, you will need to back up the data stored on it.

It will also not hurt to attach it to another port with different SATA and power cables.

Apart from all this, testing your RAM with some third party tool may be a good idea as well.

Check out this thread it's acollection of performance issue fixes,look at point 9 and 10 I think that's where your problem is.
Unless you use too high a texture quality and run the game from your wd blue disk,loading textures is very tough you should try with lower texture settings.
