I have read this thread with interest. I am buying a Zotac GeForce GTX 960 Graphic Card. We are gutting the old computer but the box is useful.
Power supply we are installing is Thermaltake 700 watt. Model TR2 AT x 12 V power supply unit.
I went to their web site to check the specs against your references but they do not supply information on amp output or other detailed specs.
I am not a gamer but want to make sure the PS is sufficient for the video card. CPU is i5-6600 and mother board is ASUS MAXIMUS VIII.
Any advise is appreciated.
Thank you

Thank you very much for your very quick answer. " not the best quality PSU " I haven't started or purchased anything yet. Just putting it together on paper first. I have never tried to put together a computer. Can you recommend a better PSU ? Would appreciate your recommendation.

Thank you

I noticed most people include the build of the computer so here it is :

CPU - Intel i5-6600 Quad Core
Mother Board - Asus Maximus VIII Hero - 32 GB -RAM
Video Card - Zotac GeForce GTX 960 Graphic Card
SSD - 460 GB - Plus two additional hard drives - 1 TB and 500 GB - Standard Configuration. Western Digital

The Thermaltake 700 watt cost is about $ 80.00 . The alternatives you suggested were all well within range. This computer is the " family " computer so I occasionally use it , my two sons as well as my wife. We all have different needs but no one is a serious gamer.

I am concerned about reliability and efficiency as well as the necessary power output. Since I have to purchase everything with exceptions of the drives , I don't mind spending a little more for a better PSU.

Thanks again for your help.
