I just bought a computer from someone. When I was looking at the PC, he showed me a couple games and stuff to make sure it worked properly. He then did a factory reset and removal of personal information.

After the reset reached more than 50% we agreed to shut it down so we didn't have to wait. He said it would start back up again and finish when I started the computer. He then turned the computer back on to show me that it would do this properly.

When I started the computer at home all it shows is the ASRock motherboard logo and then goes to a black screen and won't do anything else. Any suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated, thank you.

Solution
Id recommend clearing the CMOS, this can be done by pressing the reset button on the outside of the case or the button on the mobo (if there is one).

Best of luck, hopefully we can find a solution!

Thank you! I googled and watched a youtube about resetting the CMOS and the description of when/why sounds just like my problem. Being unplugged for an extended period of time, etc. Right now a friend that is much more knowledgable than I has the pc, if he can't figure it out I will try this as soon as I get it back.
