My keyboard locks up when I run games and when I run full screen video.

Recently I had cause to remove the power supply from my PC to clean it and the PC itself, after putting it back and reconnecting all the relevant connections I find that my USB keyboard freezes up when I run games and play video full screen.

It does the same on all 6 ports on the rear of my PC but oddly enough it works when plugged into the front panel of my case, but this is obviously not an ideal solution. I checked power management settings, turning off all aspects that would let Windows (10, 64-bit) control when USB is suspended.

I also went through Device Manager and checked the power settings there for USB and turned off any aspects where windows could take control. The keyboard is a cheapie Logitech K120, no software involved and I also have an OCZ keyboard and the same thing happens there.

I'm about to build a new PC but would like to pass on the current one and want to ensure it's fully working. Any ideas?

Since you've stated being on Windows 10, you'd be best served by disabling automatic device driver updates initially before you go about with any changes to devices or drivers. The next course of action would be to go into Device manager and remove/uninstall your keyboard and then reboot your system to let it load generic drivers. Often times Windows updates can and will amalgamate drivers onto devices that don't require it and often times is the reason it causes issues.

That being said, there are documented cases whereby a 24 pin plug removal and replacement was enough to prevent the system from booting up so I'm not surprised to see the same happening to you. In hindsight though just for the sake of relevance, make sure...

In hindsight though just for the sake of relevance, make sure you BIOS and chipset drivers(and/or USB) are all up to date. You can also try and perform a repair install and see if that alleviates the issue.

Lastly, please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your peripherals.
