Upgraded PSU and GPU - but now, my idle case fan speed is 25% faster!

Before this, the idle fan speed would be ~1200RPM. Now it is idling at ~1500RPM.

My GPU was from 750 to 960, similar idle temps (the fans aren't even on!).

My PSU is from default Dell 300W to a B1 600W. The fan seems quieter on this.

All my components temperatures are normal, as before the upgrade.

So I am mystified, why the 25% jump in case fan RPM when idle, and should I be worried? (There is not much sound though)

Oh the issue was your case fans. Well, I'm not much of an expert with the RPMs of the case fans but my thoughts on this is that due to your PSU upgrade your getting extra juice for you fans but I don't see this as a negative thing. Sure it raises questions but I don't think this should affect your system in a horrible way.

Could it be due to cabling? There is a lot of excess cables tucked to one side of the case. Could this be an issue?

I doubt cable management hast do anything with this but what about other fans? Did you give them ago? Try another fan on your old PSU and the new one?
