I'm quite confused when it comes to PC capabilities. At the end of the day, it's just TOO much information. I'm good with computers, built several, I'm good with software, went to college for it, and I understand the basics quite well BUT when we start getting in to the minute details of hardware specs is numbers being thrown around are simply overwhelming.

CPU - 4790k
Mobo - Maximus Hero VII
Mem - 16gb Corsair 1866
GPU - GTX 460 (obvious weak point)

That configuration will handle any GPU you throw at it for atleast 5-7 years, if not more. After, that, the problem will be the CPU, not the MB itself. No worries!

Ok so when we start talking about bus bandwidth, 256 vs 384, it's not gonna be a factor here? The mobo has 2 PCIe 3.0 and a PCIe 2.0, I should be good without any issues?

Really hoping the Hero VII/4790k combo will hold out a while, not that old..
