Ok so i'm pretty sure this is a fault in my GPU ''i think'' so I've recently builded a computer and have downloaded windows 10(via USB) straight away after booting for the first time. Anyways when looking at the loading screen i noticed it was green, i thought that it would boot in blue as all loading screens on windows 10 are blue and when you first download it. But i just ignored it and thought might be just nothing, but then when the log in/ create username and all the agreement and options came up it was still GREEN LITERALLY ALL GREEN I could see the text though anyways i kept on going through the options until everything was done and windows 10 was done. Yep you guessed it still green. I didn't really care about it for now as i was mainly just excited for my new built comp by me. So I looked at some drivers as i was downloading them online because I didn't have a disk drive. I downloaded 2 drivers one for my Ethernet and one for my cpus. So I went to sleep then the next day when I went onto my computer, Yep again the green screen was still there, so I went to investigate and opened my case everything seemed fine I guess, so I put on my anti static wrist strap and just checked that it was properly plugged in, pushed it in a little just in case. Then i opened my computer again and it was normal YAY I thought. Went to the bathroom and well back to green.... so I turned of my monitor, opened it again and back to normal(weird huh). so I went back to minding my own business as I thought this wouldn't bother me any further. Downloaded another driver on from a Thread that I posted and installed CPU drivers, viausb3 for my motherboard, then I went to download Asmedia-usb3.1, asked me to complete the download and restart the computer. I restarted my computer and then logged in, no green screen but still as bad, GREEN DOTS EVERYWHERE and they were flickering, so I tried turning off and on my monitor, still the same green dots. Oh and in the time of typing this on my computer(yes I am dumb because I probably shouldn't use the computer where this is happening on). So searched up green dots everywhere on screen, and what comes up baking dead gpu. I mean my gpu isn't fully dead yet but I still don't want to try. PLS give me any good news and hopefully no bad news.

PS. I don't think I have a warranty on my parts only my case, could I have broken it while building( i was on carpet but wearing a an anti static wrist strap). Thanks

Your GPU is bad, and it has been bad form the minute you installed it.

It needs to be replaced.

EDIT:

I remember your other thread now. You said you cracked something in there as well when you re-installed your GPU. Hopefully it was part of the GPU, but you might have broken the slot in the motherboard too. When you remove the GPU check the slot make sure nothing is stuck in it.

You should try to exchange the GPU first, and hope that fixes it. If it is not you need a new motherboard. In the future make sure to mention these things when creating a new thread, otherwise people will not be able to properly help you,

Appreciate your detail on the situation. May I ask if you have tried another monitor, another cable? It could be those factors, Hopefully your GPU isn't the cause and is this a new GPU?

This is actually a continuation of another thread, what is missing here is when installing he may have cracked either the card or the slot on the motherboard. It worked fine (as in not green) up until that time, but he was having other problems that led him to remove and re-install the card.

I do still get green screens still but it has been replaced by the green dots everywhere.

Although I threw away my anti static bag and the box of my gpu how do I get it to the store safely and is there a specific reason I should say to him?

Oh and i don't have any vga or dvi ports on my motherboard. I use a dvi d cable as my graphics card only has a dvi and dvi d port and my monitor only supports dvi d

A paper bag is about the only safe thing you can use then. I would just say everything shows up green and green dots. Hopefully they will be ok with it without the box.

Ok so how do i explain this. Im kind of mind right now. so ill tell you why I've finally got the chance to open up my pc and have a look around. First thing i notice somehow I've got a god damn screw missing, like to keep the motherboard in place its just not there. I mean i know i wouldn't have removed it as i wouldn't have any reason to. oh yeah for some reason i found a standoff at the bottom of my case, i just really don't know what to say anymore. Anyways moving on, I've taken my graphics card out, had a look inside(i didn't open it up. i got a torch and just had a look from the outside). As far as i could tell i see nothing out of the ordinary. no chips, no missing parts, also i checked the slot i had put my GPU in and there seemed to be nothing there. But under the slot i realized something weird where it says 90f, 60f and 42f. I think what seems to be a screw is in 90f but nothing in 60f and 42f. Also 1 last thing in my 24pin cable from my power supply there seems to be one pin which is just empty, nothing literally. No pin in one of them, no cable running to them. Hopefully i don't find anything else broken. Lastly should i also state this when i go to msy or is this normal thanks.

OK so being that the computer starts and runs the missing standoff is not a big deal, that said you should go ahead and put it back in. As long as nothing looks broken on the slot then its probably just the GPU, I wouldn't worry about the screws you mentioned.

Finally yes there is always a blank plug on the 24 pin, nothing to worry about.

Everything is normal otherwise.

Ok so i've just gona to msy and told them what happened. So they plugged in the gpu into one of there computers and waited to see if it got a green screen or green dots(he loaded up a game while testing it). So after about 10 mins apparently the GPU crashed so the guy gave me a new one same type. When arriving home i plugged in the new one, turned on my comp, thinking that i would get a normal screen. Well green screen again, turned off my monitor then on, and i got green flickering dots. This cant be my GPU again right? should i go back and tell them again, try to exchange it for a gtx 960(as they are the same price). Could this just be my cable?
