Looks solid.

I agree with HDMark - it's really crying out for an SSD (250GB Samsung 850 EVO maybe? $89)

I'm making the assumption that this is a gaming rig considering the planned GTX1080 so I'd question why you wouldn't be installing Windows 10? You can always used the W7 key to install 10, but W10 is only $85 at NCIX...?

looks pretty solid to me!! very jealous. but i would 100% toss an SSD in there.

id look into either a 120 gb if you just want your OS on there, or a 250 plus if you wanna toss a game or two on there .

Sounds good, will definitely be picked up a Solid State. Regarding the OS, I have actually yet to try out Windows 10, so I figured I would just go with something I already know how to navigate. Are there actually any features of 10 that would make me pick that over 7? (besides security I suppose)

windows 10 seems to run smoother for me. I think they got out alot of the glitches that were in the first few months of its release.

i think 10 would be the better choice even just for a support/longevity standpoint. and if you do like the look of 7 you can always get skins to make it look the same.
i think the performance is better too but im not sure.

im liking 10 alot right now but im coming from 8 soooooooo

The glitches are *mostly* gone from Windows 10 - that's why it's never a great idea to be an early adopter.

The security elements can be controlled, for the most part via simple disabling - it's not too bad at all.

DX12 is the main benefit - it's still pretty new, but games will be utilizing it in future and it's only available with Windows 10.

The upgrade is really being pushed to W7 & W8 users, as the "free" upgrade period is nearly up - so you'll likely have to put up with frequent notifications or even the behind the scenes downloads going on if you continue to use Windwos 7. MS aren't being particularly nice about prior Gen OS's. They want everyone on Windows 10, and now/soon. I don't agree with their shoddy marketing tactics, but considering there's 2 months of the "free" upgrade left - you'd be paying more for W7 now, and probably upgrading to an OS that would cost you less if you just bought it to begin with. If you're a gamer, you will need DX12 at some point, so the flip side of it all is eventually W7 support will cease and you'd then have to buy Windows 10 anyway (in addition to the W7 you were planning on buying).. so....
